ARMY-CENTRED POLITICS OF KIM JONG IL
Whereas Kim Jong Il's father, the late President Comrade Kim Il Sung emphased the role of the Worker's (Communist) Party of Korea in defending North Korea's unique style of communism, Kim Jong Il developed the Songun (Army Centred) philosophy in which the Korean People's Army has assumed the leading role of maintaining and defending the communist system in North Korea.
